This is a picture of our members the year we were founded. While the Barrie Police Service was founded in 1853, it wasn't until 1957 that the Barrie Police Association was registered.
On the seventeenth anniversary of 9/11, South and West Barrie Wild Wing hosted their annual charity golf tournament. Proceeds support local first responders and military personnel. Staff sargeant Tom Sinclair was on hand to accept a cheque on behalf of the Barrie Police Association which will be donated to the Paediatric Unit of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
We had 40 civilian and police members attend to recognize the ultimate sacrifice made by the fallen officers given to their communities. Sadly six names were added to the memorial honour roll this year.
In 1929 Barrie Police had 8 members.
Our membership includes 139 civilians who support the sworn police members.
